Apparently, when WordPress tells you to back up your site before upgrading, they’re not kidding. It was a slow day at word so I said, “Eh, I’ll just click this here update button, how complicated can it be, it’ll just run while I work.”
And then EVERYTHING disappeared hello deep-breathing exercises. Luckily I do have a back-up, and theoretically, it is churning ever-so-slowly as it re-uploads. If that is NOT what it’s actually doing, I will be a very sad person come tomorrow.
I’ve been meaning to redesign my site for about 16 -months now, since technically I’m not just elizasmom around here anymore anyway, which is what prompted this. The wordpress update was meant to be phase one, but instead I’ve gone for sort of a full-scale dynamiting, so bear with me…
In the meantime, here is my youngest defending her territory. And you had best believe she yelled at the poor cashier who had to ring up her chips. Sharing is not (yet?) her strong suit.

Yikes! I certainly hope you get everything back. I don’t know about you, but I use my blog as my journal, and I would really hate to lose the past five years of posts.
Yeah, that’s pretty much why I’m freaking out right now. Am NOT HAPPY with wordpress.

I really like this new look and I, too, hope you get everything back. Supposedly, typepad has their eternal emergency backup for if when such a thing happens.
I should revamp mine too ever since I made the split second decision to start using it again instead of killing it. Mine is terribly outdated as well. But still, your tale reminds me that I have never once backed it up so yeah…. Love the new look and those pics of Lucy are just so cute! My daughter is just now understanding that the cashier will hand stuff back to her.
You know you can set your blog to back up automatically? I do mine once a week, even though I don’t even post that often.
I’m not sure on the redesign yet, but you know me; I loathe change.
